Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency

The ECPTA is a state funded agency established in 2010 to promote tourism in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa as well as to manage 20 protected areas for the purposes of biodiversity conservation. The agency employs in the region of 500 staff and has an annual budget of R190 million. In addition to the state grant the Agency is empowered to raise its own revenue which it does from managing tourism products in the reserves as well as the sale of large mammals.
